Cook - Preschool

In a Preschool Cook , we look for committed, organized, ambitious, caring, loving individuals who are excited about making a difference in the lives of our students and their families. Our Preschool Cook understands that this is more than just a job, they are joining a team, and their teammates will be working with and depending on them for success. Some of the exciting things you will do as a Preschool Cook include, but are not limited to:

• Make a difference everyday!
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, and snack in accordance with the school's requirements and established standards
• Provide substitutemeals for children with special dietary requirements.
• Organizing food and supplies storage areas
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station
• Maintain an organized systems in the kitchen and pantry
• Work collaboratively and contribute to the weekly food menus
• Represent Open Minds in a professional manner
• Be a positive role model for our students
• Attend monthly training days

Job Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• At least one year of experience working in a licensed child care facility or similar institute.
• Proficiency with classroom technology (IPads, laptops, etc.)
• Ability to sit, stoop, bend to low level positions that best allow interactions with the students
• Willing to obtain current CPR and First Aid training
• Pass pre-employment screening and fingerprint background check

Salary Range

$15.00-$19.00 per/hour

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to lift 40 lbs is strongly desired
• Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, with excellent time management skills
• Should be comfortable communicating with and handling children from infancy to 5 years old
• Should have excellent cooking skills with adequate knowledge to coordinate with administration on weekly meal plans
