Neuroscientist / Regenerative Biology Researcher

Open Longevity
San Francisco, CA Part Time
POSTED ON 7/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/23/2027

Open Longevity is looking for a biologist or neuroscientist to help develop an experimental project on structural brain repair using developmental neural precursor tissue in non-human models.

The project will explore how intact neural precursor tissue can engraft into the adult brain, survive, vascularize, mature, and connect with host neural circuits. We are especially interested in people with hands-on experience in mouse neuroscience, stereotactic surgery, brain injury models, neural transplantation, histology, or methods for assessing neural connectivity.

This could be a good fit for a PhD student, postdoc, or research scientist who wants to take a substantial hands-on role in designing and executing the project. Depending on contribution, the work may lead to first-author publications. We are also open to collaboration with PIs whose labs have relevant expertise.

Importantly, we are looking for someone with real scientific curiosity and passion for brain repair, regeneration, and bold experimental biology.

This can be structured as full-time or part-time employment, or as a scientific collaboration, depending on background and fit.

If this sounds interesting, please send me your CV and a short note about your experience with mouse work and brain experiments.

Open Longevity is a California-based nonprofit research organization focused on longevity and anti-aging research.
