Job Summary
This Contractual Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will support the comprehensive nutrition care mission of Open Hand Atlanta providing group nutrition education as part of our Good Measure Meal (GMM) brand. This position will be heavily involved with developing programs and educational tools in our teaching kitchen and across the Metro.

Duties/ Responsibilities
Corporate Wellness
- Provide engaging, evidence-based nutrition education and cooking demonstrations for Good Measure Meal in a variety of settings across the Atlanta Metro and virtually.
- Research and develop health and wellness programs, blogs, and tools for distribution to support and reinforce client nutrition-related lifestyle and behavior changes.
- Provide 10-minute nutrition phone consults for GMM with goal of turning consults into meal sales.
- Conduct marketing initiatives at health fairs and other corporate/community events as requested.
- Develop new partners and grow existing partnerships through positive interactions and frequent engagement.
- Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, as requested.
Group Nutrition Education
- Develop a strategy for providing nutrition education classes at our Teaching Kitchen and virtually.
- Provide engaging, evidence-based nutrition education and cooking demonstrations for a variety of populations and health conditions.
- Research and develop health and wellness programs, blogs, and tools for distribution to support and reinforce client nutrition-related lifestyle and behavior changes.
- Collect and analyze data from nutrition education classes to support the strategy.
Other
- Monitor and follow all food safety guidelines in Teaching Kitchen and when out in the community.
- Provide oversight and feedback to dietetic interns throughout their rotation, as able.
- Actively participate in a diverse environment across Open Hand and partners and is a positive teammate to all employees, volunteers, and partners.

Education/Experience
- B.S. Degree in Dietetics or related field of study from an ACEND accredited program. MS or MPH preferred.
- Credentialing as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and Licensed Dietitian, State of Georgia. Or RD-eligible taking the exam within 1 month of start date.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of professional experience in dietetics. Experience in educational tool development, health promotion, and disease management and prevention.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Creativity using Canva and excellent writing and public speaking skills.
- Culinary teaching experiences and ServSafe training, preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Local travel required to teach classes across metro Atlanta.
- Working vehicle, vehicle insurance, and valid driver’s license.
- This position requires sitting at a computer, answering the telephone and performing other office duties.
- Must be able lift and/or move 25 pounds.
