POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, the Summer Camp Nurse is responsible for treating scholar injuries and sudden ailments, the Summer Nurse may also support scholars with chronic illnesses and disabilities – for example, by administering medication when necessary. The Summer Camp Nurse will also promote health-related habits (e.g. proper hand-washing) and ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services policies.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Provide basic healthcare to scholars in case of injury or acute illness
- Administer doctor-prescribed medication to scholars as necessary
- Educate scholars and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Keep track of scholar vaccination records
- Communicate with scholar emergency contacts when/if necessary
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field required
Experience:
- Experience in school-based setting highly desirable
