Job Summary:
Open Door Christian Schools is seeking a Christ-centered, passionate, and knowledgeable individual to lead our high school girls basketball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to spiritual and athletic development, and the ability to positively impact student-athletes both on and off the court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instill Christian values, sportsmanship, and character development in student-athletes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes through proper training, supervision, and the safe use of equipment.
- Collaborate with the head coach on practice planning and program needs.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and school leadership.
- Promote academic accountability and personal integrity among team members.
- Attend all scheduled games, practices, meetings, and team events.
- Support the mission and vision of Open Door Christian Schools in all coaching activities.
- Work with the head coach to facilitate the growth and expansion of the program at the youth and middle school levels.
Spiritual Qualifications:
- Has received and acknowledges Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior.
- Seeks to live a life as His disciple.
- Stands as a positive Christian role model for students, staff, and our larger community.
- Regularly attends church with a congregation that has a statement of faith consistent with the School’s statement of faith.
- Demonstrates by example the importance of the Scriptures in the daily life of a believer.
- Agrees and supports the ODCS Statement of Faith and Employee Lifestyle Statement.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience (high school level or above) is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the sport of basketball, including fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor high school students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must pass background checks and meet all OHSAA and school requirements for coaching.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).

Pay: $2,500.00 per year
