Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers by assisting with daily classroom routines, including diapering, feeding, and nap times for infants and toddlers
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by following health and safety protocols, including first aid and pediatric CPR procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences to foster trust and transparency
- Assist in classroom management by supervising children closely and encouraging positive behavior through gentle guidance
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups as needed to ensure continuous coverage and support during staff absences or busy periods
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with licensing requirements
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) to respond promptly to emergencies
- Strong communication skills for parent interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a warm, caring demeanor
- Flexibility to work across different classrooms and adapt to changing daily needs
