We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Donor and Community Engagement Specialist to join our team and help drive our mission forward. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute OAA’s annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed budget goals in cooperation with the Marketing Specialist
- Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of annual individual donors
- Oversee donor acquisition, retention, and recognition; donors include individuals (including major donors), foundations and corporations
- Manage and update donor database, as well as process donations and acknowledgements
- Provide relevant donor reports to Executive Director and Board as requested/necessary
- Execute fundraising events in cooperation with Marketing Specialist
- Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors for all fundraising events in accordance with the annual operating budget.
- Recruit and oversee volunteers to execute events.
- Engage with board members around donor development leads.
Qualifications
- Must embrace the mission of providing a loving, stable home to every child in need
- College degree or equivalent experience required
- Possess strong interpersonal and writing skills
- Have knowledge and experience in fundraising best practices and strategies particularly major gift fundraising
- Experience with fundraising/donor management software, database management and Microsoft Office
- Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers
- Be motivated and effective in building external relationships
- Be a “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
- Demonstrate excellence in organizational skills; exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals
- Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability
- Background in nonprofit settings can be advantageous

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
