What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher (full-time) position at OPC Social and Activity Center?
POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking a full-time person join our team and provide excellent customer service to local seniors calling for transportation services. Schedules rides and assigns drivers to meet customer requests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Coordinates, schedules and assigns Drivers to and from local destinations.
2. Develops daily driver schedules, adjusts and re-routes when necessary due to cancellations, time changes, weather, driver availability, etc.
3. Maintains accurate records on daily riders and destinations; completes written documentation in a timely manner.
4. Provides information about services to callers and collects passenger information to determine program eligibility; provides referrals to other transportation resources and assists as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma and previous work experience as a dispatcher or related work.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s license.
- Pass a criminal background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to read street maps and adjust driving routes to road conditions, weather, construction and other hazards.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with others.
- Skill in managing multiple projects and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands.
- Ability to establish and maintain accurate records of assigned activities and operations.
- Ability to handle sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding business-related files, reports and conversations.
- Knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and specialized software consistent with this position.
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
