The QA Lead Trainee supports Quality Assurance operations by overseeing QA Technicians and performing analytical, microbiological, and chemical testing on products, ingredients, water systems, and environmental samples. This role helps ensure compliance with food safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements, while assisting with laboratory operations, documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and support QA Technicians.
- Perform microbiological, chemical, and analytical testing on raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, water systems, and environmental samples.
- Conduct QA inspections, HACCP checks, product evaluations, and accept/reject decisions based on established specifications.
- Communicate quality issues and out-of-specification results to management.
- Maintain laboratory records, databases, reports, and QA documentation.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and QA systems.
- Coordinate sample submissions to external laboratories.
- Monitor laboratory supply inventory and assist with purchasing needs.
- Support SOP, GMP, HACCP, BRC, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Develop, validate, and improve microbiological and analytical testing methods.
- Generate and interpret reports for management, production, sales, and customer service teams.
- Assist with product holds, releases, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and other QA functions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, laboratory, or related environments preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Regular presence on the production floor and in an office setting
- Exposure to noise, temperature changes, wet areas, and slick floors
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform physical movements such as bending, climbing, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate laboratory equipment and computers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and safely perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay: From $25.10 per hour
