POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Associate is responsible for the locating, developing, negotiating and closing business relationships.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions

Call on existing clients in assigned region.
Respond to client issues as needed and communicate needs to appropriate Opaa personnel.
Serve as liaison between clients and Opaa
Identify potential Opaa clients for sales calls.
Conduct cold calls and follow up with clients via personal visits, e-mails or phone contacts.
Set up and conduct feasibility studies with interested potential clients.
Arrange and conduct board meeting presentations during the bid process.
Assist clients through the bid and re-bid process by assisting with the RFP and bid timeline development.
Arrange food service tours of existing client programs with potential clients.
Communicate with area specific RDOs with all appropriate existing client and new client activities, concerns, bid timelines and all other areas needing coordination between Operations and Business Development.
Attend pre-bids and bid openings.
Arrange, along with the RDO, cook meetings with new clients.
Attend new employee orientations within territory.
Attend and exhibit at various state professional conferences.
All other duties as assigned by Opaa Management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, and sit. Occasionally required to stoop, push, pull, feel, grasp, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must exert over 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, and ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
Frequent travel is required.
Working Conditions: Working conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
Inside and outside working conditions.
Frequent travel is required. Overnight travel may be required as dictated by the location of the client.
When visiting kitchens:
Frequently works around moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold.
Noise level is usually loud.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors Degree in related field
Experience:
5 7 years experience as a Superintendent of Schools, or similar administrative position
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with reports and business correspondence. Able to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Valid Drivers license and good driving record and must be able to travel approximately 75%
