Responsibilities
- Safely operate a cargo van to deliver goods across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using manual lifting techniques and pallet jacks when necessary, ensuring items are secure for transit.
- Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle’s manual transmission and safety features.
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and mileage for operational records.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a focus on route driving in a commercial setting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a box truck or similar vehicle preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and perform moving tasks safely; experience with heavy lifting is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts; certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations related to commercial driving.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and responsibly.
