Our client is a global critical infrastructure and technology business supporting complex data center and mission-critical projects worldwide.
Their fast-growing modular manufacturing campus, located just north of Richmond, VA, produces advanced modular infrastructure solutions for global customers. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing / Product Support Engineer to support engineering, production, design standardization, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced modular manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to production, solving practical engineering challenges, improving processes, and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with manufacturing foremen and superintendents to resolve design-related production issues using established processes.
- Identify common assembler challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Support standard manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers on template, fixture, and tooling design.
- Participate in prototype builds and resolve issues on the production line.
- Review customer requirements and recommend design improvements.
- Create and roll out engineering standards across the wider organization.
- Coach less experienced engineers and support their technical development.
- Participate in 3P, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Experience
- 7 years of recent manufacturing experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or
- 5 years of recent manufacturing experience with a Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Strong independent working style with the ability to lead in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated approach.
- Flexibility to work 2nd shift for one week per month.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in design and engineering for mission-critical facilities.
- Knowledge of electrical construction calculations.
- Interest in modular builds for electrical construction.
- Experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam, MS Office, ETAP/SKM, or AGI32.
