Quarry Foreman

Materials Foreman:

The Materials Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner, supervises and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site, and ensures safety rules are always followed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Coordinate tasks with the Operations Manager working according to priorities and plans
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew, for accurate completion of Field Logs for payroll
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities on the worksite for work crew
• Supervise and train workers and operators
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
• Plan and schedule plant production according to inventory and sales
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Report on progress to the Operations Manager and Division Manager as needed
• As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the successful operation of the quarry

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience as a materials foreman
• In-depth knowledge of materials processing procedures, equipment
• DOT Certificate (acquired within one month after date of hire)
• OSHA 10 certification
• MSHA certification
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with workers on site and report project status and issues that may arise to the Operations Manager
• Prior experience with digital record keeping and tracking analytics
• Problem-solving abilities

Education and Experience:

• Valid driver’s license
• MA Hoisting License
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Foreman role

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
