We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities for a long-term construction project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing safety programs on large industrial or power generation projects and be well-versed in OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements.
Hydropower project experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong industrial or power plant construction experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site safety activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive site safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training for project personnel.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, permits, and regulatory records.
- Work closely with project management, construction teams, and client representatives to promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Participate in client safety meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience as a Safety Manager or Site Safety professional on large construction or industrial projects.
- Strong experience in industrial facilities, power plants, heavy construction, or infrastructure projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required).
- SSHO (Site Safety & Health Officer) training/certification (required).
- EM 385-1-1 training and demonstrated knowledge (required).
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
