Maintenance Mechanic [82245]

A leading automotive services company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support their team. The role is based on-site in Hayward, California, and offers full-time employment. This position involves maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems at multiple locations, ensuring optimal equipment performance.

Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Oversee the mechanical and electrical performance of up to 5 locations
• Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Diagnose and resolve electrical (including 480V) and mechanical issues
• Respond to and resolve urgent equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
• Manage and schedule repairs, maintenance, and service projects
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS tools or tracking systems
• Train on-site staff on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols (LOTO)
• Adhere to company policies for use of service vehicle and tools

Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience with industrial or commercial equipment maintenance.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with systems up to 480 volts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in various physical positions.
• Welding experience and knowledge of PLC systems, conveyor mechanisms, pneumatic components, and water system plumbing are preferred.

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple service locations
• Self-starter with ability to work independently in the field
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to research solutions quickly
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working on ladders
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods
• Must live within 30 minutes of Hayward, CA
• Clean DMV record (no DUI)
• Comfortable with a field-based role and travel between sites
• Must follow all safety and vehicle-use policies
