This is a full-time, in-person position serving students in a Structured Teaching Classroom (STC) for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
The Special Education Teacher will lead a self-contained STC classroom supporting early elementary students with significant learning, developmental, and behavioral needs. This role involves delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, implementing structured teaching practices, and collaborating with support staff and related service providers to promote student growth, independence, and engagement.
Position Details

- Hours: Full-time, 8 hours per day

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, and behavioral skill areas.
- Maintain a highly structured classroom environment using evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators.
- Collect data, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification (required).
- Experience working in a self-contained or STC classroom ( Structuring Teaching Classroom) preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance.
- Knowledge of structured teaching, behavior supports, and early childhood development.
- Excellent collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills.
