Tool & Die Repair Technician

Pay: $28–$36 per hour, based on experience

Shift: 1st Shift 7a to 3p
Do you enjoy solving mechanical problems, repairing tooling, and keeping production equipment running?
Onward Manufacturing is looking for an experienced, hands-on Tool & Die Repair Technician to help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify existing manufacturing tooling.
Our manufacturing operations include aluminum die casting, plastic injection molding, and steel stamping. We're looking for someone with strong mechanical and machining skills who can solve problems, take ownership of repairs, and continue developing their abilities.
What You'll Accomplish
- Reduce Downtime: Identify and repair tooling problems to get production running safely and efficiently.
- Improve Tool Life: Maintain and repair dies, molds, and tooling to prevent premature failures.
- Modify Existing Tooling: Make adjustments, modifications, and improvements to support production needs.
- Maintain Quality: Ensure repaired and modified tooling produces parts that meet specifications.
- Solve Problems: Identify root causes of recurring tooling issues and help prevent them.
- Work as a Team: Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and engineering.
What We're Looking For
- Experience repairing dies, molds, tooling, or performing precision machining.
- Ability to operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and related shop equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Aluminum die-casting dies
- Plastic injection molds
- Steel stamping or trim dies
- CNC machining or EDM
- Welding and tooling modifications
We value demonstrated skills and experience. Candidates with backgrounds in machining, mold maintenance, die repair, or similar technical trades are encouraged to apply.
