This is more than a machine setup position. You'll serve as a technical leader on the production floor, working closely with operators and supervisors to maximize uptime, improve quality, and ensure our customers receive world-class products.
What You'll Do
As a Plastic Injection Molding Technician, you will be responsible for the technical performance of our injection molding operation by:
- Setting up and processing plastic injection molding machines.
- Performing mold changes and insert changes safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshooting molding, machine, material, and quality issues to minimize downtime.
- Optimizing machine performance and cycle efficiency.
- Directing and supporting machine operators throughout the shift.
- Monitoring product quality and making process adjustments as needed.
- Handling production documentation and shift-to-shift communication.
- Assisting with material handling and production scheduling priorities.
- Promoting a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 6S principles.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and helping implement solutions.
What Success Looks Like
- Become proficient with all molding equipment, molds, materials, and products.
- Significantly reduce machine downtime through effective troubleshooting.
- Build strong working relationships with operators and fellow technicians.
- Demonstrate leadership by coaching others and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Be capable of independently supporting and leading a shift while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 4 years of plastic injection molding experience.
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and molding processes.
- Experience performing mold and insert changes.
- Mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve processing and machine issues quickly.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or directing production teams.
- Manufacturing maintenance or mechanical repair background.
- Continuous improvement or Lean/6S experience.
