Occupational Therapist

Onward Education is looking for a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist to join our client's team for the upcoming school year in Surprise, Arizona. This on-site contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to support students' development and participation in educational activities. The role focuses on enhancing students' physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional skills to succeed academically and socially within the school environment.

Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Location: Maricopa County, Arizona, On-Site, 40 Hours Per Week
School Year: 2026-2027

Responsibilities:

• Assist students in developing fine motor skills such as handwriting and tool use.
• Support gross motor skill improvement including balance, posture, and coordination.
• Help students adapt to classroom tools and promote independence in daily activities.
• Address sensory processing challenges and develop strategies for sensory regulation.
Recommend and train students on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as an occupational therapist.
• Previous experience working in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement therapy goals aligned with IEP or 504 Plans.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with educators, parents, and staff.
Excellent assessment and documentation capabilities.
