Certified Home Health Aide
As a Certified Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. Your compassionate care and support will empower patients to maintain their independence while receiving the essential help they require in their homes. You’ll be at the forefront of providing personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring that each patient feels valued and respected.
What you’ll do
- Provide compassionate personal care to patients, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and document vital signs, ensuring accurate medical records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medication administration and ensure proper management of medications as prescribed.
- Support patients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and provide safe transfers.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and activities to promote emotional well-being and cognitive engagement, especially for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry, cooking, and cleaning.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or equivalent training.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- CPR certification is required; additional certifications in hospice care or catheter care are a plus.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience as a CHHA, working in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or long-term care experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with people who have varying levels of cognitive impairment.
