Manager, Configuration & Release Engineering

Job Summary & Responsibilities The Configuration and Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the configuration management and release processes across engineering and manufacturing domains. This role ensures timely and accurate part release, manages cross-functional approvals, and maintains data integrity within Oracle EBS and Windchill PLM systems. The manager will lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with industry standards including ISO and internal quality audit requirements. Configuration & Release Management Own and manage the end-to-end part release process, including BOM creation, ECO/MCN workflows, and signature routing. Ensure accurate and timely data entry and validation in Oracle EBS and Windchill PLM. Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment on release schedules and configurations. Maintain configuration baselines and ensure traceability of changes. Systems & Data Analysis Perform data analysis to identify release bottlenecks, quality issues, and improvement opportunities. Develop dashboards and reports to monitor release metrics, cycle times, and compliance. Collaborate with IT and business analysts to optimize system workflows and integrations between Oracle EBS and Windchill PLM. Compliance & Quality Ensure configuration and release processes comply with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and other relevant standards. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, records, and process evidence. Drive corrective actions and preventive measures related to configuration and release findings. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor a team of configuration analysts and release coordinators. Establish clear goals, KPIs, and development plans for team members. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related technical field. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in configuration and release management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Solid working knowledge of Oracle EBS and Windchill PLM systems. Experience managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and part release workflows. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar quality standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and process compliance. Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. Comfortable leading a small team and driving day-to-day execution. Good communication skills and ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
