A Day in the Life
The QA Manager manages the facility’s Quality Management System including accreditation standard compliance, gaining and retaining accreditations, and document control. This position serves as Quality Manager and is the focal point for QA/QC. This position functions independently from technical operations, having responsibility for quality assurance oversight independent of production and financial responsibilities.
The compensation range for this role is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

A Day in the Life
The QA Manager manages the facility’s Quality Management System including accreditation standard compliance, gaining and retaining accreditations, and document control. This position serves as Quality Manager and is the focal point for QA/QC. This position functions independently from technical operations, having responsibility for quality assurance oversight independent of production and financial responsibilities.
The compensation range for this role is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Leading the laboratory’s QA/QC and data quality improvement activities
- Ensuring that laboratory accreditations are maintained and expanded as needed
- Scheduling, ordering, evaluating, and reporting Proficiency Testing samples results, and leading development of effective corrective actions for any failures
- Ensuring SOP’s are well written, organized, compliant with accreditation standards
- Ensuring that personnel training (demonstration of capability) is documented and retained
- Identifying, documenting, monitoring, resolving, nonconformances and closing non-conformance and corrective action reports
- Implementing and improving the QA program and the QA Manual
- Developing and providing QA/QC program training for lab staff
- Documenting validation of new test and measurement services
- Performing and documenting internal audits and data assessments
- Hosting external audits by accreditation bodies and clients; responding to audit reports
- Proactively ensuring compliance to ethics program
- Managing QA staff
- Working cooperatively with Lab Leadership
- Complying with the laboratory’s Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned
These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities that help you do your best work here.
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications.
- 5 years experience managing a TNI and/or ISO 17025 compliant quality management system for a testing laboratory (preferably one performing environmental testing)
- Working knowledge of industry regulations, NELAP, 40CFR or other regulated environments
- Meet the minimum requirements of the facility’s accrediting bodies
- Personnel supervisor experience required
