Role Description This is a seasonal, on-site High School Assistant Football Coach role located in Ontario, OR.
Ontario High School Football is seeking assistant coaches that will support the head coach in planning and running practices, teaching fundamental football skills, and implementing game strategies.
Daily responsibilities include supervising student-athletes, assisting with drills and position-specific instruction, and promoting safe training techniques. The role also involves monitoring academic and behavioral expectations, modeling positive sportsmanship, and reinforcing school and team rules. The Assistant Coach will help with game-day preparation, equipment setup, film review, and communication with the coaching staff, athletic department, and families as needed.
Current Openings: Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Offensive/Defensive Line Coach, Position Coaches, and Quality Control.

Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive, respectful relationships with student-athletes, families, colleagues, and the wider school community.
- Effective communication skills for giving clear instructions, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with the coaching staff and school personnel.
- Background in education, coaching, or related fields, with an understanding of youth development and the high school educational environment.
- Experience or training in educational leadership, including the ability to mentor student-athletes and support their academic, athletic, and personal growth.
- Experience working with young people or in childcare, with a commitment to safety, supervision, and positive role modeling.
- Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and strategies, and the ability to teach technique and conditioning safely and effectively.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet district, state, and athletic association requirements and certifications (such as first aid/CPR and concussion training).
- Availability for after-school practices, games, weekend events, and pre-season and post-season activities as scheduled.
