We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specifications Writer to support our Technical Design team in a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent judgment, and a commitment to producing clear, accurate, and well-coordinated construction specifications across a broad range of project types.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
- Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
- Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
- Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
- Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
- Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
- Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
- Serve as a technical mentor and resource for design staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- 8 years of writing specifications in the design and construction industry
- Experience in one or more of the following project sectors strongly preferred: commercial, healthcare, aviation, education, data centers, or residential architecture
- Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial
- Professional licensure or credential required (Registered Architect, CSI CCS, or CSI CCCA)
