ABOUT THE POSITION & ITS IMPACT 

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the barn, care and nutrition of the farm animals, the Animal and Farm Specialist plays an important role on our Operations team – taking excellent care of animals that bring so many of our clients and staff joy. Working with Operations, Maintenance, Equine Clinical and other stakeholders, this role will create an excellence experience for clients.  

ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY IN THIS ROLE:  

  • Shift: Thursday - Saturday 7:00am-4:00pm and Sunday every 3 weeks.
  • We have horses, goats, pigs, chickens, pigeons, and more. You’ll execute care for all of our animals along with their facilities including daily feeding and watering, grooming and preventative wellness care. You’re focus will be primarily on the horses, but will need to be experienced in caring for animals of all kinds.  
  • Ensure farm facilities (which clients experience) are welcoming, accessible, safe and clean 
  • Provide preventative care including treating hooves, applying topical ointments and minor wound management, managing injuries, illnesses and more.  
  • Work directly with outside veterinary care and our farrier to maintain a healthy and thriving herd.  
  • Execute proper practices for pasture management and horse care including turning out horses from dry lots, animal and pasture rotation and putting out hay.

Requirements:

 IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE: 

We are open to candidates of all backgrounds, experience and education levels: 

  • High school education or equivalent 
  • 2 years of experience working on an established farm and/or ranch including livestock and herd management 
  • Full working knowledge of how to use farm equipment including tractor, bush hogs, etc.  
  • Valid driver’s license required.
