What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Specialist position at OnSite Medical?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a leader in their field. This position is crucial in our company. The Insurance Specialist secures account data within 24 hours by ensuring all all notifications to payers are completed, authorizations obtained and verifications of benefit coverage are completed. They also review and correct each pre-registration file for accuracy of information, obtain appropriate documents as needed and notates all work completed. Ideally, this would be someone that is a self starter and can work independently without supervision but enjoys a team setting. Someone with a great work ethic and can ensure accuracy in insurance verification, authorizations and patient quotes while maintaining compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance benefits, Medicare guidelines and administrative guidelines. Key Responsibilities
Review and verify patient information and insurance details.
Verify patient insurance benefits using various online or phone systems.
Prepare and submit authorizations.
Review medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding benefits and authorizations.
Notify patients of any coverage issues and amounts owed.
Be a team player and assist in all departments, as needed
Qualifications
At least one year experience in insurance verification and authorizations in a healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records review.
Familiarity with insurance benefits packages and Medicare guidelines
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals. This job will require extensive communication with patients.
