What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Sales Consultant — $750/Week Base + Uncapped Commission position at Onsite Energy, Inc.?
Solar Sales Representative — $750/Week Base Uncapped Commission Fast Pay
OnSite Energy, Inc.
Full-Time | W-2 | Field Sales | Hudson Valley, NY
You know how to generate opportunities at the door. Earn a weekly base plus uncapped commission—and work directly with the installer that moves your projects forward.
OnSite Energy is hiring experienced canvassers and solar sales professionals to generate and close residential solar and battery projects.
We offer $750 per week in base pay, a competitive low redline on self-generated projects, and eligible initial commission payments typically paid within approximately two weeks of contract signing.
If you’re already creating your own opportunities, this is your chance to put a direct installer’s pricing, operations, and support behind your production.
What You’ll Earn
- $750 weekly base pay plus uncapped commissions. Your base is additional compensation—not a draw against future commissions.
- A competitive, low redline on self-generated solar projects, with meaningful upside for reps who generate and close their own business.
- Transparent compensation. We’ll explain the complete commission structure, applicable project costs, and payment milestones during the interview.
- Supplemental company-provided appointments after you demonstrate closing ability, subject to availability and performance.
This is a self-generating field sales role. Door-to-door prospecting is a core responsibility—not an optional activity between company appointments.
Get Paid Sooner—with an Installer That Moves Your Projects
You know what happens when signed projects sit: commissions get delayed, customers get frustrated, and you spend time chasing updates instead of selling.
Eligible initial commission payments typically go out within approximately two weeks of contract signing.
Our documented average from site survey to installation scheduling is approximately 30 days in New York and New Jersey. This means you get paid faster!
We’ll walk you through actual project timelines and the payment process during your interview.
Timing varies by project, milestone completion, building department, and payment eligibility.
Work Directly With the Installer
OnSite Energy sells and installs residential solar and battery systems. You’ll work directly with the organization responsible for moving your customers’ projects from design through installation.
You’ll have access to:
- Design, engineering, permitting, and installation support.
- Solar and battery solutions with multiple financing options.
- Proposal, CRM, and canvassing tools.
- A dedicated Sales Manager for coaching and closing support.
- Training on OnSite’s products, pricing, consultation process, and systems.
- Operational support to help keep customers informed and projects moving.
You bring the ability to create opportunities. We provide the infrastructure to turn quality sales into completed projects.
What You’ll Do
- Canvass local territories and start conversations with homeowners.
- Qualify prospects and schedule consultations.
- Run consultations, explain solar and battery options, and close appropriate projects.
- Build and consistently follow up with your own pipeline.
- Maintain accurate activity, appointment, and customer records.
- Coordinate with operations and support customers through installation.
- Participate in regular and recurring training, coaching, team meetings, and pipeline reviews.
- Set accurate expectations about pricing, savings, financing, and project timelines.
This position includes regular outdoor canvassing, local travel, and evening and weekend availability.
Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate has already generated and closed solar opportunities through door-to-door prospecting.
You should bring:
- Demonstrated door-to-door sales or canvassing experience.
- A record of creating qualified opportunities—not solely working company-provided leads.
- Confidence speaking with homeowners and handling rejection professionally.
- Strong follow-up habits and accurate CRM documentation.
- The ability to explain your previous production and provide professional references.
- Reliable transportation for local fieldwork and appointments.
- A willingness to accept coaching and learn OnSite’s process.
Experienced canvass closers will receive priority. Strong canvassers with documented appointment production and the ability to develop into closers will also be considered.
