Technical Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Project Manager serves as a client engagement resource as well as a solution resource on implementations.  This role will perform a full range of project management duties and participate in implementation tasks, including business requirements gathering and assisting with solution design.  This person will be responsible for the successful delivery and project excellence, ensuring the client’s expectations are met and high customer satisfaction is achieved.  In addition, this role will be responsible for delivering against the Onsharp standards set for best practices and ensuring that the defined scope is adhered to with appropriate change management controls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Project Planning and Execution
  • Develop detailed, solution-based project plans, including schedules, tasks, deadlines, and milestones
  • Manage concurrent small to large-scale implementations and upgrades
  • Contribute to, utilize, and promote Onsharp’s Project Implementation Methodology
  • Perform project acceptance and closeout procedures to transition projects to the Support team
• Scope, Budget and Risk Management
  • Reconcile proposed scope against the requirements and re-estimate budget after the analysis phase
  • Review invoice drafts and time entries to keep project budgets accurate
  • Manage risk and problem resolution, e.g. scope creep, changed requirements, missed deadlines, and quality issues
  • Apply change management controls to keep delivery within the defined scope
• Client Engagement and Communication
  • Serve as the primary client-facing contact, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded
  • Participate in initial business process meetings to understand project scope
  • Lead client project kick-off meetings and other project meetings
  • Deliver accurate, timely project status and budget reporting to clients
  • Gauge client satisfaction through pulse surveys at key milestones
• Cross-Team Coordination and Resource Management
  • Coordinate communication and scheduling between implementation teams, staff, and clients
  • Motivate and guide implementation teams to deliver high customer satisfaction and consistent quality
• Project Reporting and Documentation
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, e.g. kick-off presentations, agendas, status reports, charters, and go-live plans
  • Review and contribute to implementation documentation, including FRDs, Gap Analysis, FDDs, Training Documents, and Data Conversion Plans
  • Provide recurring project status and budget reporting to management
  • Support Business Development on RFPs with sample project plans and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5 years of combined experience in IT management and project management
• PMP certification preferred
• Working knowledge of common project management activities, such as project initiation, project planning, and project status reporting
