What are the responsibilities and job description for the COMPOUNDER/PRODUCTION position at OnScent?
Position Description: The Compounder is responsible for accurately measuring and mixing raw material ingredients in accordance with formula and instructions Position Responsibilities: Ensures understanding of all safety, quality and operational procedures, in order to utilize tools, equipment, electronic/computer systems in compounding and container filling. Compounds using CMS system Keeps tanks/pots covered and off the floor at all times. Unloads empty drums that we received and inspects if there is any damage.
Daily stacks empty drums used in production and take turns putting away in the empties-trailer.
Performs weekly scale calibration. Cleans production area daily after shift and throws out all garbage at the end of the shift.
Cleans production area thoroughly weekly.
Cleans tanks/pots before making batches.
Retrieves ingredients as indicated on the formula, ensuring only QC approved ingredients are used.
Verifies age and quality of all materials used in a formula.
Pays strict attention to detail since the job requires monitoring equipment, controlling temperatures and checking for overall consistency in mixes. Operates department pumps, filters, scales and computer systems in order to accurately and properly blend chemicals in a precise manner to produce flavor or fragrance products. Ensures proper ventilation is utilized when blending raw materials/chemicals or when packing products.
Follows production safety and quality procedures to verify and record information during compounding and container filling.
Ensures safe operation of forklift and all drum handling equipment. Maintains work area in a clean and neat manner and in accordance with GMP.
Ensures the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education - HS Diploma or GED Experience -
1 - 3 years of experience working with chemicals
Demonstrate safety focus and understanding of all requirements and safe work practices and policies.
Communication Skills -
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to communicate via written form and verbally with colleagues.
Team focused and ability to work well with others
Ability to learn about production processes, and to read, analyze general technical communications, and procedure manuals, SOP's.
Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing, and respond to questions from/to colleagues, supervision
Computer Skills -
Familiar with MS Office: Outlook,
Familiar with ERP systems, Batch Metrics, NetSuite,
Ability to utilize equipment including, but not limited to copier, tablet, phone, etc.
Other Skills - Must be able to work with basic mathematical concepts, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Physical Requirements:
