The School of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) is an active office that serves over 2,000 students at OCC. Students come to our office for advising, coaching, and to get assistance in locating other resources on campus.
LAS is looking for a Federal Work Study student who can work approximately 10 hours a week.
As a Federal Work study student, your responsibilities may include:
Greeting students at the front desk of the office and helping check them into appointments
Using Canva to make flyers for LAS events
Using Canva to make Instagram posts on the LAS account for pertinent information regarding events and deadlines
Create new bulletin board displays outside the LAS Suite (you will need to plan and create the boards)
Help with events on campus, including set up/take down and help during an event
General office tasks, such as putting supplies away, reorganizing shelves, preparing graduation materials, preparing open house materials, etc.
Other duties as assigned

how to be self-sufficient, but ask for help when needed
expectations of future employers and give you valuable experience for your resume
Job Requirements:
Must have a valid FAFSA on file
Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
Must be matriculated into a program
Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
Current student in good standing at OCC
Attention to detail
Helpful, friendly, and outgoing
Basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic understanding of Canva or a sincere desire to learn
Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred. English and another language will be considered.
Additional Information:
Pay Rate:
Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies.
Starting rate of $17.00 for returning Federal Work Studies
Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm
