This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) position
Career and Transfer Services assist students with career and transfer readiness. We help students with career
exploration, creating resumes, practicing for interviews, job searching, transfer assistance, and more! We also manage a
Career Closet on campus that provides students with free, professional clothing.
Responsibilities May Include:
Staff and help manage the OCC Career Closet.
Staffing the Career Closet at specific dates and times each week based on your class schedule.
Accept and sort donations.
Tagging clothes with appropriate size and placing neatly on racks/shelves.
Assisting students that visit the closet with finding clothes in their size and placing any unused clothes back on the
racks/shelves.
Keeping daily log of visitors.
What You Will Learn:
Overview of how a college department is managed and run.
Customer Service Skills.
Organization Skills.
Communication Skills.
Job Requirements:
Must have a valid FAFSA on file
Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
Must be matriculated into a program
Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
Current student in good standing at OCC
Attention to detail
Helpful and friendly
Basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred. (English and another language will be considered).
Additional Information:
Pay Rate:
Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies.
Starting rate of $17.00 for returning Federal Work Studies
Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm
