Tig Welder

Overview:

• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process in building assemblies.
• Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Uses measuring devices to verify conformity to standards of product being fabricated.
• Suggests changes in procedures and standards to facilitate work and maintain quality.
• Maintains good housekeeping in the workstation by following 5S standards and procedures.
• Complies with all safety and environmental requirements and reports all discrepancies to management.
• Regular and reliable attendance at job site is required
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Basic language skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Basic mathematical skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Basic reasoning ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Must pass Franke welding test consisting of interpreting drawing and performing butt welds and outside corner welds on 304 SS, gauge.
