Network Manager/Architect

We are seeking an experienced IT Network Manager/Architect to lead the transformation and enhancement of our global network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in trading infrastructure and be proficient in network automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform and Arista Cloudvision. In addition, the selected candidate will manage and mentor an existing team of network/automation engineers.

Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure & Security:

• Lead the redesign and upgrade of the data center network architecture. Working closely with our vendors and team to design and implement a modern network designed for performance, recovery and automation.
• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco, Arista and Fortinet.
• Optimize and expand private VPLS/eVPN links connecting our global data centers, offices and public cloud providers.
• Develop and manage a network security framework encompassing global offices, data centers, public cloud providers and third-party hosting providers.

Automation and Tool Integration:

• Implement automation strategies using tools like Ansible and Arista Cloudvision to streamline network management, provisioning, and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and work to eliminate manual tasks within the network team.

Trading Infrastructure Expertise:

• Leverage your trading infrastructure background to ensure that the network architecture supports low-latency trading activities and meets industry standards for reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with Trading Operations and Development teams to understand their requirements and implement network solutions to support their needs.

Team Management and Mentorship:

• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers/operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Lead the team strategically and as a hands-on technical member as well.
• Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.

Global Network Management:

• Oversee the management and monitoring of our global network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (10 years) in network architecture and management, with a focus on trading infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of network technologies, including Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, and corporate VPN/ZTNA solutions.
• Proficiency in network automation using Ansible, Salt, Napalm, Nornir. Previous experience with IOS/EOS and FortiOS Ansible modules.
• Experience with modern infrastructure CI/CD (expert knowledge of Git and various deployment tools including Terraform, OpenTofu and orchestration tools such as Spacelift)
• Competence is network observability using various tools such as vendor-native, DataDog, Solarwinds.  Expert understanding of SNMP, NetFlow and vendor APIs.
• Intermediate Python development experience.
• Experience with private VPLS/WDM/Optical links and global network connectivity.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) is preferred.
