Position Summary
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, and oversight in the development and implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role ensures services are delivered in compliance with Connecticut General Statutes, DSS/HUSKY, commercial insurance requirements, and BACB standards. The BCBA develops treatment plans, supervises staff, supports program operations, and promotes person-centered, ethical, and high-quality care.
FLSA Status
Exempt – Not subject to overtime provisions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Connecticut Labor Code. This role is classified as a professional exemption, based on advanced education, independent judgment, and clinical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision and Staff Oversight
Provide clinical supervision to ABA therapists, RBTs, and paraprofessionals.
Monitor staff performance, document supervision sessions, and provide feedback for skill development.
Assist with staff training, onboarding, and compliance with BACB supervision requirements.
Promote ethical, professional, and effective service delivery consistent with BACB standards.
Client Services and Advocacy
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and clinically appropriate evaluations.
Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Deliver direct ABA services and parent/caregiver training as needed.
Advocate for the safety, dignity, and rights of clients while supporting family and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure all ABA services comply with Connecticut General Statutes §20-185i–u, DSS/HUSKY, and commercial insurance requirements.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, supervision notes, and progress data.
Submit treatment plans, reports, and reauthorization requests in compliance with payer and regulatory deadlines.
Follow BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (2022).
Program Operations and Development
Support credentialing processes by providing clinical documentation and input as needed.
Assist in drafting policies and workflows for ABA service delivery.
Participate in program audits, team meetings, and quality assurance reviews.
Contribute to the growth of OneWell’s ABA program and provide leadership in clinical decision-making.
Qualifications and Competencies
