Speech-Language Pathologist, PRN

OneWell Health Care is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-home and residential based services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), with an emphasis on functional communication, cognitive-communication skills, and dysphagia management. The SLP will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to maximize independence, enhance safety, and improve overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Evaluation:

· Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using both standardized and functional assessment tools tailored to individuals with IDD.

· Identify the need for and implement appropriate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems; assess and monitor swallowing safety, referring for instrumental evaluations when needed.

· Develop individualized, evidence-based goals and document findings clearly, ensuring alignment with individual or family's goal and best clinical practices.

2. Therapeutic Intervention:

· Deliver individualized, evidence-based therapy focused on functional communication, AAC use, social interaction, and cognitive-communication skills.

· Implement swallowing and feeding interventions as indicated, including diet modifications, positioning strategies, and mealtime protocols.

· Provide ongoing education and modeling for caregivers and staff to support generalization of skills across environments.

1. Collaboration and Teamwork:

· Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, and caregivers to ensure holistic care.

· Communicate progress and therapy updates with families, guardians, or other team members as necessary.

1. Documentation and Reporting

· Maintain detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of individual progress, therapy plans, goals, and outcomes.

· Document all therapy sessions and interactions according to regulatory and organizational standards.

· Provide reports or recommendations regarding individual progress or changes to treatment plans.

1. Training and Education

· Provide training to caregivers, family members, or staff on implementing therapy techniques and supporting individuals in daily activities.

· Educate individuals and caregivers on strategies to improve functional skills at home, in school, or in the community.

1. Compliance

· Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including state licensure requirements, ethical standards, and facility policies

· Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe environment for individuals and staff

Qualifications-

Education:

· A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Licensing:

· Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist

· Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA

Experience:

· Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Experience in a clinical or community setting providing therapeutic services is a plus.

· Excellent communication skills for working with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams

· Ability to adapt therapy techniques and tools to individual needs

· Organizational and time management skills

Work Environment:

· PRN SLPs work in field-based settings based on the needs of the individuals we serve

· As a PRN therapist, you will be working on an as-needed basis, meaning hours may very- flexibility in scheduling is important

· This role requires travel to visit individuals in community or home settings

Salary:

· Salary Range for a PRN SLP role is $50-55 hourly. This can vary depending on location, education, certifications and experience

Pay: $ $65.00 per hour
