Job Summary:
Machine Operators will work directly with Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager to ensure that product is produced to quality standards and is meeting customers input. Using SWI and approved samples along with appropriate forms to ensure each product is to spec. and ensure Standards are meet and production is on time. Use of the machine operator classification is normally restricted injection molding manufacturing ,tooling ,operations ,fabrications, distribution, quality, and other similar functions. The machine operator classification will be used only one specifically authorized by the production manager of the applicable department, or his designated representative. Employees classified, as a machine operator will be re-classified so inappropriate lower level job classification, when the size of the group, or the scope and complexity of the work or not fully justify the use of machine operator classification. The grade of any specific machine operator will be based on the grade of the highest job classification over which machine operator is normal. Pay rate for employees classified as machine operator is the baseball employee performance and business conditions of the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Produce parts per the SWI in from directions of the Shift Supervisor, using the SWI machine for that shift.
- Inspect parts for quality inn sure parts meet customer input. Report any and all non-conforming issues to Lead Operator, Shift Supervisor and Quality.
- Assumes responsibility for the quality of parts produce and exercise is his authority to prevent non-conforming products.
- Packaging parts for shipping and labeling boxes with appropriate information per the SWI.
- Maintain production log and other documents that is required by Shift supervisor or quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation as required.
- Thorough understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of, and ability to abide by, applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent Technical or Vocational Training and/or job related experience with emphasis in Injection molding required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity as needed to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
1st Shift - 5am - 3pm Monday - Thursday
2nd Shift - 3pm - 1am Monday - Thursday
