OneSource Medical Diagnostics is a provider of administrative and support services to Expert MRI, a radiology group.
We are currently seeking to fill our newest open position as a Medical Scheduler. The Medical Scheduler set up imaging exams for patients and handle customer service inquiries. Involves ensuring there is enough time between appointments to allow physicians/technologist to complete certain medical examinations and procedures. Other clerical duties may include maintaining databases, emailing, obtaining and scanning patient histories, answering phones, and updating patient account information
Day to Day will include:
- Creates & Verify all paperwork in patients? chart is correct; updates patients? chart and adds notes in the correct flied in the chart; RX, Attorney Name, DOI, Claim #, insurance card, and RFA.
- Understand the difference types of insurance we accept and schedule, such as Medi/Medi, Medical , Medicare, HMO, PPO and the forms that are required to schedule for these different insurances.
- Confirms patients' insurance eligibility with insurance companies. Verify benefits and ensure that patients' health care benefits cover required procedures by utilizing online websites or by contacting the carriers directly.
- Contacts a patient's insurance company to verify coverage levels and works with individuals to educate them on their benefits information
- Maintains patient demographic/insurance information and adds to data base
- Review patient deductibles and/or copays and submit authorization when needed or request additional documents to submit to insurance companies.
- Handle multiple calls with great customer service and phone etiquette.
- Call patients; conduct initial screening prior to an exam; surgeries, any metal in body, pregnancy and claustrophobia. All patients require clearance before exam.
- Advise the patient how to prepare for the exam and Schedule requested exam(s) according to referral/prescription form and site availability & limitation.
- In the event that, a procedure cannot be completed as requested by the MD; we contact the referring facility or attorney and/or request any additional documentation needed to proceed with exam(s).
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some knowledge of HIPPA rules & regulations is preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
