Summary:

The logistics coordinator plays a vital role in our business by overseeing logistical functions, including managing the process of receiving products and parts essential for manufacturing and shipping outgoing products. Additionally, they are responsible for optimizing these processes to ensure efficiency while also considering the margin of profitability, thereby contributing to the overall financial health and success of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None, but does work directly with multiple teams.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

• 5% increase of partial shipments
• Respond to freight quote requests within 2 business days of receiving the inquiry.
• Reduce packaging material costs by 3% through optimization and standardization efforts.
• Implement strategies to minimize LTL shipping freight claims, aiming for a reduction of 3% within the next fiscal year.
• Cross train different departments on how to quote freight.
• Quoting all freight for outgoing product shipments
• Determining the packaging requirements for outgoing product shipping and ensuring those packaging requirements are followed.
• Coordinating with our 3^rd party logistics provider to schedule and execute truckload shipments.
• Coordinating with our LTL providers to schedule and execute LTL shipments.
• Responsible for managing all outbound shipments, including preparing sequentially numbered paperwork in the software accounting system, managing packaging materials inventories, packaging of products to be shipped, and arranging transportation services.
• Conducting freight audits as directed.
• Managing the receipt of incoming parts and items in our systems.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to five years of experience in a shipping warehouse is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping coordination, or a similar operational support role
• Strong understanding of freight methods and carriers (LTL, FTL, third-party logistics)
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing schedules
• Professional, proactive, and team-oriented mindset

Preferred:

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial logistics
• Familiarity with freight claims, margin tracking, and vendor compliance

Work Environment:
This position is based at our Elgin, TX facility and involves daily coordination with production, warehouse, and vendor teams. Occasional floor walks and direct engagement with inbound and outbound shipments are expected.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
