What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Assistant position at OneMain Financial?
We’re looking for a reliable, organized, and thoughtful Personal Assistant to help keep day-to-day life and responsibilities running smoothly.
This role is about much more than managing a calendar or checking off tasks. We’re looking for someone who is naturally proactive, pays attention to the small things, communicates well, and can be trusted to handle responsibilities with care and discretion.
What You’ll Do
- Manage calendars, appointments, meetings, and day-to-day scheduling.
- Help organize personal and professional commitments and make sure important details don’t get missed.
- Handle emails, phone calls, messages, and other routine communication when needed.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, reservations, and itineraries.
- Help with personal errands, appointments, purchases, and other tasks that come up during the week.
- Keep track of deadlines, reminders, follow-ups, and important dates.
- Research information, compare options, and help with everyday decisions.
- Coordinate with household staff, service providers, vendors, or other contacts as needed.
- Help prepare for meetings, events, trips, and special occasions.
- Handle confidential and personal information with complete discretion.
- Notice what needs to be done and take care of it without always being asked.
The right person is someone who is:
- Highly organized and comfortable managing several things at once.
- Proactive — you think ahead rather than waiting for instructions.
- Dependable — when you say you’ll take care of something, it gets done.
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- A strong communicator who is comfortable dealing with different personalities.
- Resourceful and able to figure things out when plans change.
- Discreet and trustworthy, with good judgment around private matters.
- Calm under pressure and able to handle last-minute changes gracefully.
- Comfortable using calendars, email, messaging apps, and everyday productivity tools.
Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Office Manager, or in a similar role is helpful, but we care just as much about your attitude, judgment, and ability to take ownership.
What Success Looks Like
A great Personal Assistant makes life easier. You’ll know what is coming up, what needs attention, and what can be handled before it becomes a problem.
We’re looking for someone who can become a trusted part of the team — someone who takes pride in doing things properly, treats people respectfully, and can be relied upon to handle both the routine and unexpected parts of the job.
What We Offer
- A respectful and supportive working environment
- A role with variety and plenty of responsibility
- The opportunity to work closely with the people you support
- Trust and autonomy once you’ve learned how things work
- Competitive compensation based on experience and responsibilities
If you’re someone who enjoys being organized, solving problems, helping people, and making busy days run a little more smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
