The Teleport Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on satellite communications systems and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Troubleshoot and repair satellite communication systems and equipment
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on communication and facilities equipment
- Conduct building and facility maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs
- Provide coordination and assistance for system installations
- Be available to provide assistance outside of normal working hours
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Must have a valid Driver's License with good driving history
- Must be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the component level
- Must be familiar with generators and uninterruptable power systems
- Must be familiar with HVAC, boilers, and cooling systems
- Must be able to obtain certification to operate fork lifts and boom lifts
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Must be able to work in small spaces
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program preferred
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Required Experience:
- Military satellite communications SHF or EHF operator course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education required
- 3 years' experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must possess the required education and/or certification IAW (or higher than) the DCWF Work Role ID 441 Basic (IT BS degree, CND, or Network )
- Must have completed the 301 section of the JQR for Gateway Operator/Maintainer (or equivalent)
- Must possess a Secret Clearance.
