Be the Reason Someone Finds Hope

At OneEighty, we restore dignity, reimagine potential, and rebuild lives. We believe there are always more reasons to hope than to fear or despair—and you can be part of that change.

We’re seeking a Residential Peer Supporter to provide a variety of recovery-oriented services in Residential and Transitional Recovery Housing settings to clients who have self-identified as desiring peer support, to promote greater independence, community integration, and recovery from addiction.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with peers to identify wellness and recovery goals. Assist peers in creating a wellness plan that identifies the individuals' self-determined goals, as well as specific objectives to carry out those goals.
  • Provide transportation for peers as approved by the residential treatment team, and as necessary for Transitional Recovery Housing.
  • Help with new client orientation, at Residential and all Recovery Housing facilities, including personal property search, paperwork, and introduction to residential treatment and Recovery Housing staff. Assist Case Management staff for new residential and Recovery Housing referrals.
  • Organize attendance for peers to 12-step groups and facilitate Recovery meetings as needed.
  • Complete regular room checks/searches and complete facility safety checklists for all OneEighty Residential and Recovery Housing facilities.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with Transitional Housing residents to observe if symptoms of disease recurrence are present and refer residents for additional support services when needed.
  • Complete urine drug screens.
  • General supervision of clients in Residential and Transitional Recovery Houses settings, including verification of rule compliance. Assigning behavioral checkmarks and personal improvement/action plans as needed.
  • Ensure timely completion of all paperwork and peer contact documentation.
  • Work with Residential Support Team Leader to develop and implement new programming.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma, or equivalent required.
  • Must be certified as a Certificated Peer Recovery Specialist at time of hire, or within first 12 months.
  • Must be self-identified person in recovery from substance abuse disorder.
  • May not currently receive clinical services at OneEighty.
  • Must be in recovery and have at least two years continuous sobriety.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver License and maintain a driving record that allows the individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing OneEighty's vehicle insurance.
  • Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or able to attain certification.
  • Must be trained in administering Narcan.
  • Ability to use a computer; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record and collaboration platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, RingCentral).
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
  • Must model recovery principals and prosocial behavior.
  • Must have written communication skills which support the ability to submit accurate documentation and effectively communicate.
  • Must work cooperatively under the supervision and direction of people who may or may not have lived experience in recovery.
  • Ability to facilitate and maintain productive communication while maintaining professional relationships with clients and coworkers. Ability to work as a team.
