What You Will Do
- Monitor and analyze cyber threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats relevant to OneAmerica’s assets and personnel
- Gather raw data on threat actors, indicators, and tactics, then filter and analyze this information to assess risk and impact
- Help compile actionable threat reports, including contributing to the weekly Threat Landscape briefing and periodic Threat Intelligence Bulletins to prepare OneAmerica for potential threats.
- Assist in mapping and managing OneAmerica’s digital attack surface.
- Use tools like Tenable to scan for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across systems, networks, and applications.
- Identify and triage discovered vulnerabilities or security exposures, researching their potential impact, and coordinating with IT teams on remediation priorities.
- Support the Security Operations Center in day-to-day monitoring and incident response
- Using the IBM QRadar (QRoC) SIEM platform, observe and investigate security alerts and suspicious network activity in real time
- Participate in initial triage of incidents – such as phishing attempts or anomalous logins – helping to gather relevant evidence and determine severity.
- Assist in threat hunting exercises and post-incident analysis to understand root causes
- Help produce OneAmerica’s Weekly Threat Landscape (WTL) briefing and ad-hoc Threat Intelligence Bulletins (TIB)
- Assist in assembling these updates by consolidating threat intel findings, notable cybersecurity news, and OneAmerica-specific security observations
- Currently enrolled in an accredited institution towards a 4-year undergraduate degree
- Completed at least 2 years towards a bachelor's degree. (rising sophomores and juniors)
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Preferred areas of study Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field of study.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Written and oral communications, facilitation, presentation, and people skills.
- Foundational knowledge in network security, threat analysis, or incident response
- Familiarity with network protocols, basic intrusion detection or security
- 12-week paid summer internship (May – August)
- 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- All work is expected to be hybrid, mandatory 3 days in office.
- Housing available for eligible candidates.
