ONE80 is seeking an experienced, Tulsa-based communications professional to join our team at a full-time capacity. The Communications Specialist will develop and execute comprehensive communications and content strategies—including media relations, digital content and strategic planning—to elevate brand visibility, engage target audiences and drive growth for the organization and its clients. This role requires a strong blend of creativity, strategic thinking and analytical skills to craft compelling content that drives results.
We provide PR services to various clients across Oklahoma. We work with nonprofits, city governments, restaurants, retail outlets, corporations and more. The ideal candidate will have a creative skill set that can accommodate these diverse industries.
Responsibilities:
Communications Planning & Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that support client goals and enhance brand storytelling.
- Create and manage content and communications calendars, ensuring consistency in messaging and strategic alignment.
- Assist with all business development materials, including Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, company marketing collateral and website content.
- Support the development and execution of social media strategies and content for clients.
- Research industry trends and audience insights to inform content and strategic decisions.
- Track and analyze content and social media performance using analytics tools to evaluate campaign success, generate insights and inform future strategies.
Media Relations and Strategies
- Identify opportunities for media placements and assist in crafting key messaging for press materials.
- Maintain local, regional and national press lists and continually develop positive, professional relationships with journalists, reporters and media contacts.
- Support the development of contributed content, including guest articles, op-eds, white papers and speaking opportunities for clients.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, messaging and public relations strategies.
- Write and edit engaging content, including blog posts, articles, case studies and press materials.
- Write and distribute press releases, secure earned media placements and manage the agency’s media monitoring and management system.
- Coordinate and support press events including press conferences, grand openings, groundbreaking ceremonies, etc.
Account Services & Client Relations
- Serve as a primary communications contact for clients, managing day-to-day operations and coordinating the completion of client needs and requests.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their brand, audience and objectives, providing regular and ongoing client communications.
- Provide strategic recommendations for content improvements and new opportunities.
- Support clients with website content audits, updates and best practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Special Projects
- Assist in the execution of special projects for clients
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience preferred, or relevant work experience in a Communications, Social Media and/or Content Strategist role, with a track record of successfully implementing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and grammar. Ability to adapt tone and style to match the brand voice.
- Proficient in using digital and social media analytics tools to gather and analyze data, interpret metrics and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to set clear objectives, prioritize tasks and execute strategies that align with business goals.
- Must be highly self-directed and capable of managing a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy with minimal supervision.
Maintaining operational efficiency requires a strong comfort with technology and a proactive approach to mastering key software. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency or a willingness to quickly achieve expertise in our core digital toolkit, including:
- Canva for design templates and brand standards
- Sprout Social for comprehensive social media management
- Google Workspace for everyday collaboration
- Monday.com for project management
- Prowly for media monitoring and database organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in digital content creation is a strong plus, specifically photography and videography for social media and web platforms.
