What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Logo Refresh and Brand Style Guide Development position at ONE WORLD ONE LOVE A NJ NON-PROFIT CORPORATION?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
One World One Love is a small but mighty nonprofit that since 2016 has supported more than 2,500 refugees and other immigrant newcomers as they resettle and make their new home in Union County, NJ and the surrounding area. With a paid part-time staff of two and more than 250 volunteers, we've been too busy helping our new neighbors to give adequate attention to our brand identity. Plus, we have no idea where to begin. That's why we need you! Our needs are two-fold: a redesign of our logo (woefully old) and a brand-new style guide that includes specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements in formats we can use in print and digital. We're looking for a volunteer who's excited about our mission and has experience with brand and voice. Your work will lay the foundation for our website redesign that incorporates our new logo and brand style. The style guide may also include the following: - Rules and guidelines for staff and board members to maintain brand consistency - Tone and voice guidelines and examples - Formatting examples - Grammar, spelling, and punctuation preferences - Instructions for utilizing the brand style guide based on communications channel or stakeholder
Since 2016, One World One Love has been honored to serve more than 2,500 refugees who've been forcibly displaced because of violence, war and persecution. We believe that by providing a community-based long welcome, our new neighbors can thrive, integrate and achieve upward mobility. Our marketing materials, however, lack cohesion and professionalism to adequately convey our work. With a refreshed logo and brand guidelines, we can develop consistent materials - website, social media posts, impact reports - that showcase the critical work we do and demonstrate our value to funders, partners, and the public.
We are all-in on this project. We will share past Impact Reports, social-media posts, and donor emails to introduce you to our work and mission. We will share our branding goals and target audiences. During the interview process, we'd like to see your portfolio and examples of your graphic designs.
