Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our grocery store team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently process transactions while creating a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them during checkout.
- Scan, weigh, and bag groceries accurately and efficiently.
- Process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Address customer questions, provide assistance, and resolve minor concerns.
- Verify age-restricted purchases in accordance with store policies.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and price checks as needed.
- Follow store policies and procedures for cash handling and loss prevention.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and managers to ensure smooth store operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate weights.
- Dependable and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude and willingness to provide excellent customer service.
