Job Title: High School Spanish Teacher (Part-Time / Project-Based)
Compensation: $75 – $100 per hour (commensurate with experience)
About the Role We are seeking an engaging High School Spanish Teacher to lead a dynamic, multi-age classroom of enthusiastic first-year Spanish learners. This role is ideal for an educator who loves interactive, student-centered language acquisition without the heavy administrative burden of building a curriculum from scratch.
We take the prep work off your plate. You’ll be provided with comprehensive curriculum materials and full support for lesson planning focused on a hands-on, real-world, theme-based approach to language learning.
Schedule Details
- Dates: August 25 – June 10
- Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (2 x 90-minute blocks per week)
- Student Population: High school students (multi-age), all in their first year of Spanish (Novice Level).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-energy, immersive 90-minute Spanish lessons twice a week using provided theme-based materials.
- Facilitate hands-on, interactive activities that encourage real-world conversation, cultural appreciation, and practical language application.
- Collaborate with our team to adapt provided lesson plans to fit the unique pacing and dynamic of the multi-age classroom.
- Create a welcoming, supportive environment where beginner language learners feel confident taking risks and practicing speaking.
- Track basic student progress and offer constructive, encouraging feedback.
Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Spanish; strong proficiency in English.
- Teaching Experience: Experience teaching high school-aged students or multi-age groups preferred.
- Instructional Style: Comfort with experiential, communicative, and hands-on teaching methods (moving beyond traditional textbook-only instruction).
- Skills: Strong classroom management, adaptability, and a passion for making language learning accessible and fun for beginners.
