Certified Mat Pilates Instructor, Independent Contractor
One Within All | Yoga & Wellness Studio is seeking a passionate, reliable, and community-minded Certified Mat Pilates Instructor to join our growing team in Brookfield, Connecticut.
We are a new Yoga and Holistic Wellness studio creating an intimate and welcoming environment centered around mindful movement, strength, recovery, personal growth, and genuine community connection.
We are looking for an instructor who genuinely loves teaching and understands how to create an engaging Mat Pilates experience where clients of different fitness levels feel welcomed, appropriately challenged, supported, and encouraged throughout their practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead safe, engaging, and thoughtfully structured Mat Pilates classes.
- Create well-balanced class sequences focused on core strength, stability, mobility, posture, balance, flexibility, and body awareness.
- Clearly demonstrate exercises and provide effective verbal cueing.
- Offer appropriate modifications, regressions, and progressions for different fitness levels and abilities.
- Monitor form and movement patterns and provide clear, respectful corrections when needed.
- Incorporate Pilates props such as resistance bands, Pilates rings, light weights, balls, and other small equipment when appropriate.
- Create a positive and motivating class experience while maintaining the mindful principles of Pilates.
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment.
- Build genuine relationships with clients and contribute positively to the One Within All community.
- Collaborate with the studio owner and other instructors on special classes, workshops, programs, and community events when opportunities arise.
Qualifications
- Current Mat Pilates Instructor Certification from a recognized training program.
- Strong knowledge of Pilates principles, Mat Pilates exercises, sequencing, cueing, alignment, and safe movement practices.
- Understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, posture, and body mechanics.
- Experience teaching group Mat Pilates classes.
- Ability to confidently guide clients with different experience and fitness levels.
- Strong communication, demonstration, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, dependable, welcoming, and community-oriented.
- Current CPR and AED certification preferred.
- Additional certifications or experience in yoga, mobility, functional movement, barre, sculpt, breathwork, meditation, or other complementary wellness practices are a plus.
