About the Holiday Market
This November and December, Studio Park’s Piazza in downtown Grand Rapids transforms into a twinkling winter village. The Holiday Market at Studio Park is an all-new Grand Rapids tradition, with rows of light-strung chalets filled with handmade, giftable goods from hand-picked local makers, plus outdoor fire pits, live music, holiday activities, seasonal drinks, and cozy corners built for lingering.
The market runs November 18 through December 23, 2026. Admission is free, and multiple visits are highly encouraged! With the downtown holiday corridor expected to draw more than 300,000 visitors this season, be ready to spread Christmas cheer to many!
Position Overview
We are seeking energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Holiday Market Staff to join our team for the holiday season. This is a hands-on role supporting the daily operation of a busy outdoor holiday market.
Staff may be assigned to a variety of responsibilities, including bartending, food service, bar back duties, customer service, setup, stocking, and general market operations. Team members should be comfortable jumping between tasks and working together in a fast-paced environment.
Please note: This is an outdoor position. Employees will be expected to work in cold temperatures and changing winter weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages according to established procedures.
- Prepare, assemble, and serve food items according to established recipes and food-safety standards.
- Provide friendly and efficient service to guests.
- Take customer orders and process transactions accurately.
- Verify identification and follow all applicable alcohol-service requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and food-service areas.
- Restock beverages, food, supplies, and service items as needed.
- Assist with deliveries, stocking, setup, and breakdown.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Help set up and break down market spaces, equipment, and supplies.
- Work cooperatively with other staff, vendors, supervisors, and event personnel.
- Follow all health, safety, alcohol-service, and workplace policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in bartending, food service, hospitality, events, or customer service is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment during cold weather.
- Must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment as required (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude during busy periods.
- Bartending experience and applicable alcohol-service certification are a plus.
- Able to attend scheduled training dates (to be discussed during the interview).
