One To World's Global Classroom Internship (Hybrid)
One To World, a non-profit organization that provides programs to New York City’s international university students and Fulbright scholars, is seeking an intern for the Spring 2026 semester. The intern assists in various facets of One To World’s Global Classroom program, in which trained international university students and scholars (known as “Global Guides”) facilitate intercultural workshops with K-12 youth. Global Classroom’s thematic-based workshops are creative, engaging, and globally-focused. Global Classroom interns gain first-hand experience at an international education non-profit and have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world. Interns work directly with the Director and Coordinator of Global Classroom to fulfill the needs of the position, while also meeting their personal professional development goals.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate thematic and project-based workshops for 3rd-12th grade students in public schools and community-based organizations throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC
- Mentor Global Guides from a range of cultures and backgrounds with workshop planning via Zoom meetings in advance of their workshop
- Assist Global Guides with student engagement and responsive classroom management during workshops
- Communicate with Global Guides and program partners (teachers, admin, staff)
- Conduct program documentation and evaluation, including data entry, organization, and analysis
- Create social media content to advertise accomplishments and partnerships, and spark interest in the Global Classroom program
- Support the Global Classroom team with additional programs, including trainings, teacher professional development, community events, and One To World special events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred - highly motivated upper-level undergraduates considered)
- Experience leading or working with young people (required)
- Experience working in schools, after-school organizations, and/or summer camps in the USA (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, cross-cultural)
- Interest or experience in global or intercultural education
- Ability to take initiative and maintain flexibility
- Proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel throughout New York City, including outer boroughs (required)
Hours:
- 15-20 hours per week (on average); Late January – May 2026
- The intern will work with the Global Classroom Coordinator to set weekly working hours; some programs have the potential to begin before 9am or end after 5pm.
Compensation:
- Weekly stipend of $275 provided. We will gladly support your efforts to secure school credit and additional funding. (Note: One To World as an organization immensely values the experiences and perspectives of international students studying and living in the US. However, at this time, only US citizens, permanent residents, or international students with a CPT/OPT visa are eligible to be paid the weekly stipend.)
