Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play an important role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with vendors, project teams, and our accounting department to ensure invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.

What You'll Do

• Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receiving documents, and supporting documentation
• Enter invoices and payments into the accounting system
• Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and appropriate coding
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, statements, and payment questions
• Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records
• Assist with weekly and monthly payment processing
• Help ensure invoices are paid according to agreed-upon terms
• Work with project managers and other departments to resolve invoice issues
• Assist with month-end closing and other accounting responsibilities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and AP processes

What We're Looking For

• Previous accounts payable or accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Construction or building-products industry experience is a plus
• Experience with SAP Business One, Comsense, or similar software is a plus
